Global Firepower

I'm putting this in the General Writing Discussion forum, as I use it to inform some of my work, although this might be better placed in World Affairs.

This is a website which charts the current military capabilities of just about every nation, and even has a nifty tool where you can compare countries.

It also provides a summary of economic power as well as military.

Obviously, its a bit of a blunt instrument. For example, it doesn't reflect the technological capability of say US submarines... of which they 'only' have 75 vs say North Korea, which has a respectable 70... albeit, they're all probably ancient and don't have fuel / munitions.

It might come in useful.
