Earth may have had more than one moon

A group of scientists suggest that early during the formation of the Earth, there could have been more than one moon - and that the one we have was possibly the last to form:

It's clearly hiding behind the moon, because it doesn't want to be seen.

Having two moons would make life on Planet Earth a very tenuous thing.

Some ancient societies also speak of "The Time Before the Moon".

That's right. There was something elset there... a big space thing, like a planet maybe. It wandered off, roguishly, and left the Moon to hold its parking spot.

I know exactly what happened. The second moon and Earth had a falling out after a heated argument. The second moon feeling unappreciated decided to leave.
