Hello again
I been looking online for a download link for an old (ish) sci fi book but it doesn't seem to exist.
Set in underground sections of a devastated Earth and featuring free humans 'Roamers' and humans with metal brain implants 'Plants' and an evil computer overlord 'God'
Up above robots have restored the biosphere etc and are planting crops.
Some kind of visiting invisible alien is wandering about up there.
Basically young roamers develop a type of psi power and do a rebellion against the computer - I think!
I thought this book was titled Cul de sac from perhaps the seventies but no joy online. A few books with that title but not that plot.
I now wait to be put on the right path - thanks

Some further memories of this'n
The Roamers often go searching through abandoned residential areas and get trinkets and jewels of the mummified corpses to sell to the implant people.
Occasionally Roamers are put on trial for breaching Plant laws and sentencing is ordered by computer speakers (Godholes) mounted in tunnel walls.
The only people who can make love are the Roamers , when they reach adulthood they have to donate eggs and sperm to the computer system so it can maintain viable breeding stock for the Plants.
They are quite proud of this and call themselves true humans.
Every few months there is a 'plant high festival' where the implanted people have like a widespread VR orgy so their bodies sit zoned and twitching for a couple of days. The Roamers then cheerfully steal back lots of jewel trinkets for resale whilst the Plants are zoned out
Hope this helps

I've been trying different word arranging in my search for this:-
Cul de sac
Cul De Sac
Culdesac
Cul-de-sac
CULDESAC
No joy with any of 'em, plenty of titles coming up but none relating to the story I'm looking for - fairly sure that culdesac is the title.
Son of culdesac?
Culdesac rides again?
Culdesac and the Sundance Kid?

No problem. It's a great site. I drop in from time to time and order a bunch of stuff (at those prices, why not). Brian, who runs the site, is great at replying to Emails and answering questions on the state of the books.

I would say that most the books are in very good condition - NB: my assessment, not the official grade - to "well read". Obviously the older the books the more "worn" they are but none of them are falling apart. Think "read a few times".

Don't miss his other pages with "sets" of books, two quid books and Ace Doubles.
