I happened to pick up book two of this series last summer and found it an enjoyable read. Now I am going to give book one a shot. Interestingly enough I think book two is probably the best spot to start as from what I can tell book two tells the story of the main character in book 1 when he was a youth.

So far my only complaint is the type in the version I got is really a little to small for my 50 year old eyes. :(

That's a problem nowadays with my old eyesight also.
The book choice in the large print section at my local library is pants.
The librarian who buys 'em must really like historical romances.

I must have eighteen or twenty pairs of reading glasses scattered through rooms in my house and various jacket pockets

I finished it today. A month for a book isn't bad for me as it is my busy time of the year. I enjoyed this book. While it wasn't overly original and if you have read enough books you can pretty much figure out the way things are going to go. However, I enjoyed the journey of getting there. There were a few things I didn't see coming, but overall I thought it was pretty good. This book was the first installment of the Treason series. Book two counts as a prequel. I am curious if the author is going to continue. I would read the next book, so that sums up my experience. Now I'm curious to see if anyone else has ever read any of these books and now I have to figure out what to read next.
