...also known as John Difool's adventures. There have been rumours of a movie version of this, on and off over the years, but nothing has manifested. I'd love to see it happen as it is an original and intriguing story, still relevant today, and entertaining too.

Yeah, the fifth element was great, but it's not the same story, not by a mile.

I was being a little facetious. It's not the same story (though elements are there) but the look is quite similar.

Not sure a film could do justice to the overall weirdness of The Incal and end up being a success (and it would need a lot of money spent on it I would think). I suppose that's why it's not got beyond rumours.

Yeah you may be right, although if you take The Fifth Element as an example, I wouldn't have thought that one would be any more successful.

They are similar of course, and with Marvel and others playing within universes, I don't see why this one couldn't do the same (disregarding legal issues and other behind-the-scenes factoids unknown to people like me).

The is an animated version, ehich can be found in parts pn Youtube.
I agree with comment above about Mobuis' intrinsic oddness being difficult to capture on film. Suspect it would need to be French rather than Hollywood.

There are some interestng animations of Arzac.

Hmm, I just realised that I have already watched Arzac, a long time ago, in French. Even though I don't speak it. The dreamlike imagery draws me in.
