Inspiring Moments from Life to inspire each other

I like to capture little moments when I can that I feel may end up as future inspiration. I scribble descriptions of things into evernote - like when I was on Skye last winter I was constantly writing down what the hills looked like as the weather changed, or how the sea felt.

Sometimes I capture people. I want to share this week's gem.

The departure lounge of Chicago airport. The one small bar is packed, a dozen languages drift. A man hobbles in, manuvering his way between people, stools, scattered luggage on two crutches, a robust steel brace enveloping one of his legs. He's tanned, with visibly healing scars on his face. He wears a linen jacket with a paisley pocket square. One expensive hand-made Italian loafer on his one exposed foot.
"Had to walk here from Terminal 2. Triple brandy, and fast."
"You want me to pour it fast, or you gonna drink it fast?" asks the barman.
"The latter."
The barman hands him the drink. The man hands over a 50. He slams the drink in one gulp. "Keep the change."
And he's gone.

WTF!!! That actually just happened last night. A few things jump to mind...

1. What's this guy's story?
2. How do you capture inspiration?
3. Do we have, or should we have a crazy inspiration thread? Throw your ideas at the wall and see who you inspire.

Look, I was in a hurry to catch my flight and I had to get rid of the counterfeit note. Classic distraction of the barman did it... I ditched the crutches and the brace in the toilet, removed the makeup scars, left the linen jacket in the trash and put on the other shoe. I figured if the barman did spot the counterfeit note, the description he gave would get me home free... I got my flight, no problem.

The tumble down three flights wasn't so bad, just a leg broken in one place for each flight and some scars from a face-plant. Maybe two. Can't remember. Oh, and from the explosion. Probably only a one flight tumble without the explosion, but then the insurance pay out would have been smaller, too. Pity I can only wear one of the loafers for the next year.
