well I finally watched the last episode - I'm not sure if I liked it or not. It really did wrap things up quite neatly so in that regard it was quite a success but it has to be said that the SFX were very poor which did detract from the enjoyment somewhat

So often a long running series will just fade away without a proper conclusion. I think of the origin of the "deus ex machina" device: The story gets so messed up you have send down a god to straighten things out. Or the cavalry to save the fort. Therefore, I wouldn't criticize Grimm for at least providing a real ending.

I just finished rewatching the entire series (on Amazon). It was worth it. It had a strong ending. Maybe not great but good. The entire 13 episode 6th season was one giant ending that I'm glad the show got.

I miss my fake Grimm friends.
