I've been standing in a book store frowning at the first two books in this series.
The Forsaken Skies and The Forgotten Worlds - it looks like book three isn't available yet.
Anyone in here who has read them?
Any review without spoilers?
I'm considering buying but I don't wanna get halfway through book one and go "turkey, bin them both'

Did you get them?
Just read the samples and some of the reviews.
The sample is great and I'd go for it just on that, however the pricing on the e-books is in that fat area I don't like much.
So if I read them at all I'll have to wait for delivery of the paperbacks.

The reviews seem mixed-troubling that many thought it needed editing.
Amazon has both PB available in US for around 22.00 us dollars.(that's together)
kindle e-book versions are 19.00 US dollars(that's together)

The Paper editions are well priced and compared to my own which are a bit overpriced they are great.
This is why I priced my e-books at 3.99 US each. To make them more accessible.

Nah. Decided to wait a while until the end of the trilogy comes out, keeping them on my 'to buy' list :)

Have both books in my possession now;
Just finished the first and I am very happy with it.
I do think that there might be a good argument that it could have used tightening; however I might not agree where everyone else needs it to be tightened.

I found that the science and the action felt too redundant with lengthy explanations about how the physics of things work in this marvelous world and it unfortunately feels like the reader is getting the same lesson each time there is a tense action scene with flight and fight.

There is other world building that amounts to the lengthy explanation about how the wormholes work and the dangers of traversing them and trying not to be obliterated by its edges.

What I like the most and might be where some readers complain is the long time spent with character development and the unfolding of motive.

There's the usual trope of how a ragtag group are assembled to make the hero's journey together; but it all works and despite its length I kept forging through from front to back. And it's a complete story so I have confidence that the next book will be complete and I can wait till the next on comes out.

I'm 100 pages into the second book and still loving it.

Sound interesting.
Dithering now about buying them both anyways but my pessimistic viewpoint says
'wait until book 3 is published, something might happen beforehand and you will never see the last book'

Sometimes Mr Glum who lives in my head prevails!

Ahhhh!
I wasn't aware it was that far advanced.
In that case I will be back at WH Smiths tomo with my two gift vouchers and pick up books 1 & 2.
Do the pre-order for 3 once I have them both in my sticky mitt.

Cheers for the info :)
