(Found) Can Anyone help me find this story?

Hi, I don't remember much but I remember it had a character called frank who was a rather angry shortish ginger guy.... who at one point found himself amongst a army if clone like copies of himself. There was also a character called Julia and one called kay. It was such a while back that I've not got much more to go on any suggestions would be gratefully revived.

Do these further details seem right?

Three or four books about them.
Frank is sidekick to the main protagonist
They are extreme combat specialists.
For some reason Frank is usually wearing battered old sandals
The two female names are the respective girlfriends. The main hero gf is also a combat specialist, the one with Frank has been infected with a weaponised disease, sometimes she is a sweet young gal but now and again she morphs into this thing with killer teeth and armour skin covered in acid pistules.
Their adventures lead them to different planets where society is in the final stages of apocalyptic collapse.
Any of these ring a bell?

The character you describe is similar to Ben Bova's Sam Gunn
However there was only one clone.

We need more detail about the story otherwise Let's be Frank is right on mark.

Short story? or Novella or novel.

Any sort of plot involved.

If doesn't have a plot: look up Mark Twain.

Amy..... is a typo I know that's harsh to any amys but she was meant to be 'any'

That's ringing a bell... it was a series of 4 novels and there was a plot but I can't really remember anything specific...

A little update on this.. the Scottish man who was short, stocky and always angry was indeed called 'Frank' in the books.
This was short for the somewhat unlikely character name Franco Haggis

Two days ago I had a social media fall out with Andy Remic and he unfriended me!

He phoned me later to rant on but I did the easygoing relaxed voice and he slowly calmed down.

He then revealed to me some very unsettling news about his health - but it's not my place to tell.
