Oh no! I loved this series! I would watch it anyway Brian. It will leave you with unanswered questions but it's a hell of a ride.

The series is set in many countries, for someone like myself who hasn't travelled, it's breathtaking. I have a feeling this may have contributed to the demise of the series. It must have cost a small fortune and been a logistical nightmare to film in so many different countries.

The ideas of how humans have evolved are fascinating.

There was some disappointing decisions made by Netflix in terms of the funding, as I recall. It is a big-budget production for the very reasons mentioned above, and, in the beginning for season 1 (and 2, I think), Netflix was partnered with an outside company to help with the funding. But then, after season 2 was in the can, Netflix broke off the partnership with that company (I'd have to do some digging to find out which one), and said they wanted to fund it alone. They even, according to Deadline Hollywood, negotiated season 3 contracts with all the actors, but then promptly cancelled it a week later due to funding issues. Sad, really, because I enjoyed the show. And, aside from it being such an interesting story, I loved the LGBT inclusion in it. It's not very often you see gay characters as the heroes in sci-fi/fantasy stories--not to mention an actual trans woman (not just a cis guy in a dress) in a heroic role too. There must've been something odd going on with the company that Netflix was working with, some sort of behind-the-scenes drama we're not privy to. All signs pointed to a season three up until a quick decision to end it a week after season 2 dropped.

And to @Brian G Turner, I think it's still worth watching too.
