Are people relying upon spellcheckers too much now?
I am aware that in other areas skilled people are either losing their jobs to machines, or else given lower status roles using computers to do the job they once used to do i.e. setting the betting odds on racing, determining when to buy or sell shares. I'm not sure that any machine can be the equal of a skilled human (at least not yet) and spellchecking is a particularly good example of why not. If this wasn't done by hand, but by a junior intern using a spellchecker then they were asking for trouble.
