Disclaimer- The author gave me a free eBook in exchange for an honest review.
I just finished this one. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 and I might be able to talk myself in to another half star.
If I had to describe it, it would be a military sci-fi book. It tells the story of two empires that have finally found peace, but not all of the warriors are there yet. The author does a sneaky good job of tying all of the characters to each other. Normally I am pretty good at sniffing these things out, but I got a couple past me and that made me enjoy the book.
There is a lot of the "warriors code" in this one as well as betrayal. The battle scenes were good. They weren't overally drawn out and I could visualize what was happening. A couple of sex scenes, but nothing too graphic so you can let the young ones read it.
It ended at a good place and barring the next paragraph, the author can expect a couple of bucks from me for the sequel.
OK, this has nothing to do with the book or the author, it has to do with Amazon. I am not an Amazon fan and I do not subscribe to any of their services. I do not like that Amazon is signing up pretty much everyone who wants to self publish to their kindle exclusive service. Myself, I am a Barnes and Noble fan for many reasons. 1. I like brick and mortar stores. 2. I normally always have a stash of their gift cards somewhere in the house 3. They are not Amazon which is turning in to the "evil empire". Hopefully, when the sequel comes out there will be alternative ways to purchase the book.
