Holiday season approaches. What are you taking with you to read?

I have 2 weeks on a remote island with no TV. Time to read. A collection of light escapism and some more demanding stuff. Enough that I can move on if I find I do not like something.

Then again, I might just haul The Big Book of Science Fiction around and pick and choose from that.

Yes! The Weathermonger is a very special book for me, it ticks every box: sweeping away modern technology: Check. Lots of action in Wales: Check. Elsewhere set in deepest rural England: Check. A Rolls-Royce and some maps: Check. Wonderful, wonderful book. One of these days I will be "inspired" by it and do something very similar...
