This year's FantasyCon is taking place in Peterborough between Friday 29th September and Sunday 1st October. More information for anyone interested is here:
Fantasycon
The full line-up of events hasn't been announced yet, but the following guests of honour have been announced:
Ben Aaronovitch
Nancy Kilpatrick
Pat Cadigan
In addition to that, I think that at least 2 Chrons members are in the running for the British Fantasy Awards on the Sunday. I think both @chopper and @Tirellan have been shortlisted, which is fantastic.
Tickets are still available via the website at the top and there are either tickets for the whole weekend, or day tickets for Saturday or Sunday. In addition to that anyone attending needs to be a member of the British Fantasy Society (BFS). Membership can be bought with the tickets on the event website, or via the BFS. For a cheaper option, the BFS also do paperless memberships for only £20.
It's pretty much on my doorstep, so I'm planning on attending my first convention.
There have been whispers of a potential northern invasion, and possibly folks from LonChron putting in an appearance so this could be a great chance for folks to catch up with fellow chronners as well as experience the con.
So, who reckons they might be going?
I'm looking forward to it already. Hope to see some of you there
