Dublin Octocon 2017

Hey was just wondering if anyone will be headed to Octocon in Dublin and if anyone has been before whats it like? Anything I should be sure to check out?

I was just about to start a thread on Octocon and then seen this....

I'm heading down tomorrow, with the family. I don't normally do cons en familie but we got an amazing deal at the con hotel (dinner for all of us, a great room, playstation etc, full use of the leisure facilities) for about the same as I was paying on my own. I might blog about how that works out as i think local cons are great opportunities for families.

Anyhow, I am also working! I have two panels tomorrow:

2 pm, chatting about monsters vs aliens and what not (and we all know where this sf bunny is going ...), 4 pm talking about space travel and depictions of, whether we should go out there. On Sunday at 12, this is being expanded on to consider what is possible and where it takes us (yes, me talking real sf )

In addition, catching up with the Irish sff crowd, always lovely, fan panels with a few fave writers and loads for us all to do. Happy, happy.

If anyone is there, come and say hi.

- there is a match on in Dublin this weekend, I believe, and it is booked out. Hence why I"m driving - I decided it was a lesser evil to the Enterprise back
