Has anyone here had custom bookmarks designed and printed? I think it's a pretty good idea for authors, as I imagine readers are more likely to pick them up than business or postcards, and they're more likely to be regularly seen.

I found a site that prints 55x200mm double-sided colour at 8.6p per bookmark for 500, which seems reasonable (with cheaper or more expensive options, and much, much cheaper for much higher quantities). 55x200mm seems a bit large, so I think I'll go for something smaller.

55x200mm is only 5.5cm x 20cm, which is roughly about 2 ins by 9ins. Sounds about right to me. Book marks flyers and postcards are very useful. Got them done for my first book. Publisher provided them for my second. I try and get them into the goodie bags at UK Conventions, or on book stalls there.

I measured it up on a ruler at the time, and it seemed large. I've just measured my actual bookmarks, and they tend to be 50x210mm, so it is indeed about right.

Book marks are a great Idea, I use them. I used Vista Print in the US of A. If you live overseas, you have your own print houses that do the same thing. I always try to carry some on me, It's the next best thing to having a book to show.
