Martin M Clark (our reiver33) is a brilliant writer, whose Lucas Helath stories are a tribute to 50’s detective fiction.

Night Never Ends is the first in the series, and involves a bizarre murder case that only a hardboiled private eye - and a wise-cracking imp only he can see - will be able to solve.

It twists and turns and develops like any pro thriller, with smooth writing and excellent pace that means you’re likely to finish this book too quickly and be left wanting for more.

My only criticism is that the imp doesn’t play much of a direct role in the story yet, but I suspect it will in later books.

This is definitely a writer going places.
