I read this book approximately 20 years ago. The main character was female, estranged from her family, became a bull dancer in the temple. It was set in ancient Greece.

Lots of luck Cappi, but as this is a Science Fiction and Fantasy forum I don't like your chances. On the other hand, we have such a group of readers here that one never knows what someone of us have read and remembered. For myself, I've read nothing like this.

It is a fantasy novel. I read the synopsis of "Bull from the sea" but that isn' the book. I do thank you for trying.

After I had posted, I wondered if it might be a Fantasy Novel after all.:oops:

Thank you for posting your own answer; I'm sure some future searcher will appreciate it. Welcome to the Chrons!

There was also a sci-fi story in Analog magazine-- a 'Mission Impossible' team, consisting of a man who threw things, a lady speed-reader with total recall, and a small lady, who posed as the couple's child, and was a serious acrobat, were trying to prevent a political coup that involved a bull fight. Winner of the bull fight won. But the bulls had implants to make them respond to remote commands: toss of head, turn to left, etc. The man and the girl challenged for the right to fight, and fought Cretan style-- man tossed the girl, who did flips &c off the backs of the bull. I'm afraid I don't remember the author.
