The Vulcan Bomber is well known but the Handley Page Victor (another of the V Bomber force) less so. I love this plane. It looks like something you'd find in a nineteen fifties comic that is trying to envisage what the future might look like. Entered service in 1958 and ended life as a tanker.

I do love the look of a delta wing aircraft. Is that old tech now?

There are quite a few delta wing fighter bombers around - the Typhoon being one

I don’t know of any specific delta wing bombers nowadays, although the stealth bomber might be classed as one (or classed as a flying wing…not sure). As for delta wings, Concorde is a classic and probably qualifies as old tech. We have one in a nearby air museum. It’s pretty small inside.

You don’t see that many flying wings as they all flew to the secret Nazi base in Antarctica at the end of WW2 and the licensing agreements are quite restrictive.

When I was a very young child (3-6 so 60 odd years ago) I lived in the midlands of England and our house must have been under the flightpath of some RAF base or other because I remember Vulcans flying very low overhead. They used to terrify me. They seemed to be going so slowly I thought they were going to fall at any moment.
