Old Tech thread

Only a tiny front garden, then.

Taking the idea of defensible space to it's limit.
And after a while the Marlin would start to add an olfactory defence to all the rest.

Only a tiny front garden, then.
Just completely filled...

There was a chap in Southampton that spent 5 years building a huge catamaran in his back garden. When he tried to get it out, he found that the one place on the road that the boom crane would have to stand on couldn't take the weight due to the shallow drains and conduits running under it. It was still there nearly ten years later...

I remember that boat. Cannot remember exactly where it was. Somewhere to the east of the Itchen, or was it at the bottom of Shirley?

I think you might have broken Google Maps. I can't get closer than 172 Midanbury Lane with StreetView, by working my way along the road, and if I try to drop the little yellow man in at the exact point, or anywhere near to it then I get an error:

No Street View imagery available here.

When there is a blue line, so clearly there should be imagery available.

Instead of New Tech, do you have any Old Tech like the thread implies i.e. photographs

Try this:

Or try 59 Avon Road, Southampton.

Works fine for me, including the option to go back by stages to 2007, showing its deterioration over the years.

To see the size of the boat, put in the address and then change to satellite view. So looking from above, rather than the road view.
