DISCUSSION -- March 2018 -- 75 Word Story Challenge

I got my story in and hope I at least came close to the requested genre. It's not something I normally write but what's the fun in that. lol.

@Penny .... Kingdom's Fall .... Sometimes you can't see the true danger, because you're concentrating on the immediate danger.

@Joshua Jones .... Pretty When You Smile ....
Revenge is a dish served served hot after letting it simmer a long, long, time.

@Peter V .... Judicial Enquiry into the Second Venusian Campaign (Aborted). Admiral Sir Archibald Chastain Commanding .... And the unofficial record for the longest title goes to Peter V. Seriously, the title does not run out of steam, because running out of steam leads to defeat. :)

Funny thing about @Peter V story is that we had a prime minister asking in live TV transmission of government meeting Why airplanes can't fly through volcanic ash clouds. That was a few years back when one of Iceland volcano sent a cloud of volcanic ash over Europe.

Hugh -- The many worlds of imaginative literature come together in this inspiring vision.

scarpelius -- A sense of undaunted hope is found in this optimistic tale.

Garfunkel -- The way in which yesterday's crises become today's entertainment in conveyed in this story.

Cat's Cradle -- A strong reminder that things can always go wrong is offered by this haunting creation.

D. A. Xiaolin Spires -- An unsuspected connection between the organic and the inorganic appears in this imaginative piece.

Starbeast -- A tongue-in-cheek look at the nature of heroism can be found in this playful offering.

Luiglin -- A moving tribute to loyalty and devotion fills this sequel to a literary classic.

Ashleyne -- A mood of impending doom pervades this chilling tale.

Pedro Del Mar -- The inescapable failings of human endeavors serves as the theme of this all-too-realistic account.

Calliopenjo -- Courage in the face of overwhelming danger lies at the heart of this story.

Penny -- The eternal battle of right and wrong is vividly depicted in this colorful adventure.

Joshua Jones -- The virtues of patience and perseverance are celebrated in this suspenseful tale.

Peter V -- The inevitable flaws of any organization are exhibited in this ironic fable.

Parson -- A famous urban legend is presented in a fresh new way in this wry story.

I echo @Peter V's sentiments. Thank you both for the excellent reviews. I tried my hand at it for the last anonymous 100 word challenge, and it is much harder than it looks. I greatly appreciate all the time and energy you put into these.

Well said.... I thought this even if I may not have conveyed it

When time allows I try & comment on why I shortlist or vote for someone but actually find it quite difficult to do proper justice to people's efforts. I once thought about giving reviewing a go but realised I don't always understand or 'get' all of the stories and would either do someone an injustice or make myself look silly (or more likely both).

So hats off to all those who take the time to review.

Sorry for jumping on the back of your post Joshua but you pricked my conscience

@johnnyjet .... The Grand Reception .... If you are going to make a memorable first impression make a big bang.
