I found formatting my first novel using Word stylesheets such an incredible PITA that I never wanted to do it again.
So what I did is I left all the headings in and the opening paragraph of the first chapter - then deleted the rest of the text. I saved this as a new master file.
Then whenever I want to start a new WIP, I simply save another copy of the masterfile, rename it as my WIP title, then go in to change the title page and opening paragraph.
Tada! I now have a fully formatted novel with no need to mess about with stylesheets or page section breaks.
Anyone else have any tips relating to writing and publishing? If so, post them here.
