I read a short story in the 90s it was in my school library in an “Analog” or “Omni” type magazine.
A man and woman are at a party.
The woman hates the man.
He is soon leaving to be a colonist on another planet.
I believe he tried to coerce the woman into going but she refuses.
At some point he uses some kind of special ring to scratch the woman and he secretly obtains a DNA SAMPLE.
Story jumps ahead to the colony planet and it is sixteen or so years later.
The man lives on the planet with an exact clone of the woman he made from that sample.
She is unaware and appears to have been his loving wife for the last sixteen or so years.
They have two children a boy and a girl.
The man thinks he got away with it until the children become murderous and kill his wife then him.
Unknown to the man the original woman had a sort of copy protection on her DNA that would cause any children born of a clone to murder their parents.
