"Spoiler" request

A gentle request.

Since I'm sure I'm not the only one who turns over/off before the "next week" bit comes up during the end credits of each episode, could we all agree not to discuss that bit?

I suppose spoiler tags could be used but since we're not using them to discuss the episode under discussion, that may be a hassle.

(I'll copy this under the Episode 3 thread.)

The Chronicles policy in TV forums has always been that in an "episode" thread, you may only talk about that particular episode and reference any previous episode, but not discuss anything that happens in any subsequent episode. Nothing has changed there, so, there should be no need for spoiler tags in an episode thread. If you wish to create a "character" thread i.e K9 or a thread about a specific "subject" i.e. the TARDIS swimming pool then spoilers may be required.

The problem (not restricted to Dr Who) is the show runners heavy use of "on next week's show" to spoil the show themselves. I don't know exactly when this started but I really dislike it and I cannot turn the TV set off quick enough. Who wants the next week's story completely ruined? All TV shows seem to do it now. Under those circumstances it is difficult to criticise people for talking about what they saw. I think we may have to review the Chronicles policy, but for now I'd prefer someone to start a new thread on the next episode, rather than to add spoilers to a post in the current episode thread.

Previously, when I was more active here and the forum was smaller, I would create threads in advance for each episode of a popular show with the first post being:

-----------------------------
Creating topic, remember you
can only discuss this episode
inside this topic. Reviews of
the episode are encouraged
-----------------------------

I would encourage this, but there is too much going on on Chronicles now for me to do it all myself.
