While searching for something else I found an interesting article mentioning new evidence of a counterpart for black holes. They called them galactic fountains, which spew hot gases over 100,000 light years distance, but I think they are white holes, the theoretical counterpart for black holes.
After all it is not logical for matter and energy to simply disappear from the universe or just compress indefinitely.
