-This was a book in paperback maybe 200 to 400 ish pages
-it would have been written in the 1990s or earlier (I believe it would have been in the 1980s or 1990s)
-Sci Fiction
I read this 20 to 25 years ago so I will give you the bits I can remember. (sorry its not much). It was set mainly in a space ship with a group of men and woman that are taken to the ship for training for fighting of some kind. I has a lot of funny comic relief in the story line. I remember they people given a one piece suit that they were to ware and them complaining it was so skin tight that you could see every nook and cranny. I vaguely remember the aliens in this book were round and flouted about (assuming Im not mixing up books). Unfortunately this is not much to go on and I was not able to find it googling it. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Could it be part of the Alan Dean Foster trilogy - the damned?

Cheers, Greg.
Hiya Greg,
I don't think it's the Damned trilogy, I reread that in early December while I had no internet and there was nothing about the one piece shipsuits - that's from elsewhere and is annoying because I've read it at some time

Might be "Children of Arable" by David Belden

I haven't read this but dug it up searching the web.

- spherical aliens
- late 1980s
- set in space

however: "a big ideas book" about gender and the Future of Humanity, so doesn't exactly sound like something with a comic relief storyline...
