Susan Howatch: Starbridge series, Penmarric, & more

Having just finished reading the remaining book regarded as belonging to Anthony Trollope's Barsetshire series, I'm thinking of taking up 20th-century author Susan Howatch's similarly six-volume series set in the 1930s and 1960s. I read a couple of them over 20 years ago, but didn't start with the first published, Glittering Images, which I think I'll try now.

A couple of those books in the image above aren't in the Starbridge series.

I don't know that I will get to her earlier books, some of which some Chronsters might have read.

I haven't read any of the books in the first image, but Penmarric and Cashelmara, if I remember correctly, are both part of her series of books where she bases all her characters on the Plantagenet dynasty, turning them into rich Victorians, and their life stories into high class soap operas.

Penmarric was a TV series in the 1970s, I vaguely remember. May be on Youtube.
