NASA is preparing to test an asteroid defense system

It is about time, I say. Long before the film Armageddon, it should have been obvious that Earth was helpless; being naked in the face of certain doom. Just last week, I received an email with this link in it:

NASA is preparing to test an asteroid defense system (TECHSPOT)

I would think that should have been far more important than any other and all other NASA projects combined.
