Think this might be the Captain America, bottom shelf of vertical display:

This appears to be the Cisco Kid comic, second shelf from the top, though one online source says Winter 1944 which could refer to December 1944, and another January 1944 which puts this in the year prior to the display. But the comic below it with only CASW (fifth letter indecipherable) as a clue, has eluded every attempt to determine what it is. Even the Overstreet Price Guide doesn’t list a comic with those four letters.

It's CROWN.

A search lead me to a site where a group of fans are doing the same as some Chroners are. Though they are working from a higher resolution photo.

Can post the link, but it does give the game away somewhat.

Will put it in a spoiler (if only in case I can't find it again).

Think it might be this. Depending on the resolution and type I can see where an A could be mistaken for an R, but man, that O still looks like an S. Anyway, thanks for figuring this out. Much appreciated.

From Assault (1971):

"Common" as in "the Common," where the murder took place, not that the killer is "common."

This headline is a major part of the plot. The story is placed in the newspaper in an attempt to make the murderer think the witness (an art teacher) can draw what he looks like, so he'll attempt to stop her. Not a great plan, I'd think.)
