Human Girl actually a Reptile

Hope I’m putting this in the right spot.
I read a book series in the 80’s. I found the title once but struggling to find it again.
What I remember :
A man has been bringing up his adoptive daughter. There are no mirrors. So she does not know that she is not human. She accidentally finds out she is a reptile and gets very upset. I think there are colonies.

I think this might be The Keeper of the Isis Light by Monica Hughes. A young girl is brought up by her robot guardian after her parents are both killed and he genetically alters her so that she can survive on the planet. She doesn't know she looks different until human colonists turn up.
