What does Pennywise do to relax?

Kills children....that's his relaxation. It's serious work for him to remain dormant all those years but he can't be too noticeable. Outsiders might notice a rise of disappearances. He can only numb adults to a certain radius. Poor Pennywise, he just wants to kill every second of the day. God love him.
 
Balloon animals.
 
It would daydream about new and fresh kinds of fears rooting in children that will shape all their fears and dreams as adults. Knowing most of us won't overcome their fears because, maybe in all that fear, it is hard to remember it is just the fear itself not what we fear.

That's also why the remake sucks. And It knows and laughing at it. Supernatural, homicidal evil clowns are not, but It is real.
