The Boys - Amazon Prime

I thought it was interesting that the smartest person on the planet decider to act as instigator, when there had to be a dozen cameras on those crowds. It's going to look plenty sus when she joins the Seven and takes a seat next to Homelander.

Yeah, you're right. Keep watching, you'll get shocked on what she's up to and what she ends up doing.

Happy Midsummer Festivities to everyone. I doubted that anyone would be checking the Boys out, since it's that time of the year. But I was wrong. The current episode has one of the highest ratings in the series, standing at 9.1 at the moment of writing.

A mark of quality. Although some people might dispute that. So let's see how it earned it...

Dear Lord, he had a helmet back in the day. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, wearing a helmet that hide his smug face would be an improvement. The Vought HQ called him Project Odessa in the memo to everyone involved in the project. After Soldier Boy incidents maybe it was a good thing, even if shutting down the whole program would've been better.

Not that it was ever going to happen since the man had already been released from the lab, and when he came back they were freaked about it. Yet, nobody said nothing. It was as if it was a normal day occurrence for him to pop in the lab, carrying a "Home Sweet Home" cake with him.

With the cake done, Homelander moved to the next item in the list, by asking Frank to attend a friendly competition while he recited a memory of Frank deciding to burn Homelander's skin. At the point I realized that they were back in the normal time, and not in the past.

The important piece of knowledge was that burning still hurt him, and yet, still despite crying his eyes out, he saw Frank "making the shot" and his defence was: "I was only doing my job." Not that it mattered to the deranged god, because he'd already decided the fate of those people. Frank was going to go into the oven to be burned alive, but the strange thing was that he didn't ask others to take notes.

Next one of his list, was Marty for humiliating him with Squirt nickname, gained from wanking in the cell. So Homelander asked Marty to perform at the front of the audience, so that he could hear them laugh. When he couldn't perform, Homelander lasered his dick off.

"Use it or lose it," he said.

It was at the point when Barbara stepped in and told to his face the truth, Homelander could have escaped just like he lasered his way out during the labour. Except he couldn't because he was scared of humiliation, instead of feeling superiority. You can guess how it all ended. Not nice.

Billy is not alright, even if he's super lucky to fall in the shower and not crack his skull on the floor. It's how my dad went out. StarLight's apparatus said, "The world doesn't end, even if your sh*tty life does." Maybe the worm living in his body has eaten its way to his brain for getting stupid suggestions, when he's about to punch the last ticket.

The funny thing was that it happened right at the moment doctors told Hughie that dad was "clinically braindead." He could do nothing, because dad had signed DNR, just like Viv. And mum wasn't willing to try to push the hospital. After all, their family isn't made from money, so that they could keep dad hooked onto the machines forever. Just in the case, doesn't happen to normal families. The only alternative I could think would've been injecting dad with Compound V and hope for the best. But we've already seen that ultimately it leads back to death.

I just didn't guess that was exactly what Hughie was planning when he contacted A-train and asked him to steal a vial of Compound V. I thought he was smarter because he's seen what it causes, and injecting Dad with it wasn't going to be a good thing. Am I wrong?

At least Kimiko thought like I did and punched Hughie hard on the shoulder. And then told him that Dad was supposed to die, because it was his time to go. Nobody gets second life. Not that Hughie was about to lose his only one, because the Shining Light attacked the pair after A-train left the meet. He couldn't run because he hurt his angle. It was literally a fight-or-die situation.

I loved seeing Hughie doing that and not dying in, when it came to his time after Kimiko was blasted to pieces with a 40mm grenade launcher. It was either him or the other guy. No other choices and he won the knife fight. And just like always the other participant in the match always goes to hospital too.

That was his plan when he caught Kimiko fighting her sister in the corridor. The sister lost against the beast, and then she told her that she hated Kimiko's gut for leaving her behind.

It surprised me that StarLight went to see the Presidential candidate in his office, and got into the meeting without raising security. It was even more revealing that the Presidential candidate knew about the plan to off Victoria. Did he order it? If so, it's very strange that he's running with the lady. You just don't know when the day comes when she's going to pop the next one, and it might be yours.

Not that she was concerned about it, because she offered her fans to go on streets to demand for the resolution. All she wanted was them to put "Vought on the ground."

It's just none of it was going to be easy with Sister Sage targetting StarLight campaign, by putting a lot of resources on the propaganda. Almost as if they are waging a war. But you think what Sage is getting out from it. My guess is satisfaction, because nothing else can please her. She even gave firecracker a written speech to fuel that hate.

"Six hours of truth of StarLight and her whores at VNN," she said at the beginning of her broadcast.

At the other side of the street, in her campaign office, Starlight ordered people to evacuate while she brought in the Boys. Expect, StarLight wasn't happy seeing that Butcher was also attending the call. She told him to crawl back into the bottle, while MM tried to keep the man in the team. She wasn't yielding so MM had to put down the boss card to keep Billy in the play. Once that was settled, Billy straight away honed into the truth on what makes FireCracker to hate StarLight so much.

She didn't say anything about it. So Billy moved to the next item in the list, and asked for 50k from the company. Except, MM wasn't happy to let Butcher out from "fifty grand" to dig dirt on the b*tch.

Maybe the funniest thing was the FireCracker had no audience, just tRump didn't have any protestors outside the courthouse. Yet, allegedly she was streaming to millions, all while Mother's Milk and Billy sneaked in their unique way into the backstage. Except it didn't go as smoothly as it should've as Butcher had another fainting episode and he asked MM "to finish the job on getting the son, if..."

I just don't believe that Butcher will die before the end of the season. Most of all, I suspect that worm has something to do with his condition. After all, it's a parasite. But it made wish it would've taken Butcher because his 'blackmail' on FireCracker was never going to work. Just because she's a spin doctor, and she turned her paedophilia to a moment with Lord in a blink of an eye at live broadcast.

What I don't also get is that when they were across the street, why StarLight didn't use her power and suck all the energy out from the grid to prevent them from ever broadcasting anything?

Only when her private medical records came out to daylight, the kettle boiled over and StarLight went down with the propaganda b*t*h. The fight reminded me of US pro wrestler matches. Except StarLight used her powers and cracked FireCrackers nose. All so that Sage could control the narrative and call her mental.

Not that it was the biggest cracker as that Billy's doing at the moment he was dying. He destroyed the flexiguy and saved himself at the same time. Or rather, the parasite did it.

"You give a frontal lobotomy, and I don't have to be me for a couple of hours," Sage ordered the Deep to do. It is the most vile and disgusting thing, and it almost made me to stop watching at the moment. Then again, I also know that it's Garth's material and he likes to shock the audience more than anything.

But I didn't. So I saw that Hughie got the delivery and he made good on his promise to only get bollocking from Butcher. At the hospital he couldn't go with the plan, but mum had thought about the same thing and she spiked dad while Hughie was away. Are we going to call him SuperDad from now on?
