Male/Female team in at least two books sent to a planet and discover war conducted there is by robot tanks teleported to planet by opposing sides. Probably written in 70s. Not Harry Harrison.

I suspect that this Keith Laumer and his Bolo series (A Plague of Demons rings a bell)

K. Laumer wrote a series of books/stories about Bolos (intelegent usually A. I. tanks) and impossible odds. Other folks, also wrote stories in this universe.
I don't recall any with a specific mal/female team though; usually it is a human/bolo team.
I do vaguely recall a early ace double where there was a romantic story and a human brain from a Bolo like tank is given a n android body to rescue his lady (been looking for a copy for years).
