DISCUSSION THREAD, September 2019 75-Word Writing Challenge

@Dr_R_Dizzle .... You're gonna have to answer to the Coca-Cola company! .... Dr. Drizzle gives us a First Contact story which drips of irony and lost opportunity.

Let's see if I can get something with this one. Shouldn't be too complicated. I hope.

@Elckerlyc .... Breaking News .... Elck writes us a tale where humanity is totally outclassed but very nourishing.

Welcome aboard @Elckerlyc, I hope you enjoyed writing your first 75. if you are like me, you find that you are continually wanting at least a few more words. This is really a good exercise on making your point quickly and you very spare language.

@Karn's Return .... Averted .... Karn brings us a humorous look through an alien eyes.

(Karn, it took me at least 3 reads to figure out the joke. That is, if I got the joke.)

Thanks, Parson, and thumbs up for summarizing my tale so aptly. In just 10 words! (y)
Yes, I did enjoy my first try and already berate myself for being too eager to post the result. Why hurry? Lesson One learned.

If you have the idea, best get it put down. Back when the challenges were early, Elckerlyc, I would often be the first one to post up, usually within minutes or hours of it being put up. But these days, with so many different members branching out in genres, well...

Cat's Cradle shows us the power of reruns.

Cathbad demonstrates proper table manners.

Ashleyne proves how one person's tragedy is another's comedy.

Luiglin blends genres into an effervescent whole.

Daysman offers peace, at a price.

elvet fills the airwaves with a golden oldie.

mosaix portrays the tragedy of underemployment.

Peter V celebrates the way love overcomes all challenges.

Dr_R_Dizzle reminds us of the importance of arriving on time.

Elckerlyc frowns at the rudeness of eating and running.

Karn's Return points out the danger of making assumptions.

@Victoria Silverwolf .... The Liberators .... Victoria lets us feel the aggravation of someone who has to deal with others who can only see the sunny side.

@Stable .... I'm so ashamed .... Stable brings a grin as we read a line of sheer absurdity.

@Justin Swanton .... The Gods Have Descended Among Us ....
Justin reminds me of the days when it seemed like everyone believed in psychic powers.

@J.C. Scoberg .... Me too .... J.C. points out that laughing at others can be extremely dangerous.

Ta Parson. :) Who gets the twist? (my wife didn't and I said I'd check with you lot)

I'm writing yet another one but can't seem to move from the 'dark' to the 'humour', so frustrating!

(Especially just knowing the bear will slam us all with a mega-groan pun story about thirty seconds before the contest closes)

Argh! Is that how it usually goes with these challenges!?
Composing a decent story in just 75 words is already hard enough. Competing with anyone who can create mega-groan puns at will is going to give me nightmares and constipation.

The challenge is on yourself! ;)

Just consider it a learning experience and have fun with it. I can't tell a joke to save my life. The people here are good, but I learn a lot from them!
