I read (and thoroughly enjoyed) the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation (2007; Vintage).I've never found a version in English that seemed to really "sing," as it were.

That's the one I read. It seemed a very good translation. I also read their translation of Doctor Zhivago. Excellent. The footnotes helped to put everything into historical perspective as well.I read (and thoroughly enjoyed) the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation (2007; Vintage).
Then there is the problem of having read endless quantities of science fiction easily found/purchased at local stores in the 70s, new or used, and now many of them, like the stores, are just memories.
@Elckerlyc Thanks
The bookfinder site looks good. Easy way to search ebay.
The used books online search site isn't working for me. First it said data base connection error, then it said the page isn't working. Maybe cause I'm in the US.
Cool site, actually works on my system. Another way to whittle away time.In the us it's Used Books Online Search | Find the Best Price on Second Hand Books
Program changed the name to link, it's a dot net site.
It's working
That site looks real good too. Thanks
I rate Vonnegut highly, but I would suggest if you only ever read one Vonnegut, read Slaughterhouse Five.Kurt Vonnegut
Have you never read Pride and Predjudice and Zombies?Stuff the classics, most of them look crap anyways, no space marines or evil zombies
