Manzanita tunnel, Ashland, Oregon, June 2015

I understand what I'm seeing, but, is there some other significance to it other than beauty?

For me, personally, yes, since I used to explore up in the woods when I was a young man, over 40 years ago. Also, the trail seems strange to me, with all those mossy, lichenous branches leaning in and the birds crying.

The dusky picture below was taken in the same area.

At dusk near there. This is a bit below the place where the manzanita tunnel begins.

You might think of Sibelius's tone poem "Tapiola"...The forest photo is best looked at in a dark place.
