Thanks! I don't know why, but seeing fantasy maps just motivates me to write even more.

I think its the visual part of a world coming together - a sign of something building up and the story to be woven into the world. Same way that good music or artwork can equally inspire the mind to create. Landscapes and reality can be equally inspiring as well!

I managed to get a copy of Campaign Cartographer really cheap at a gaming show. Steep learning curve but you can get spectacular results.

Update: I bought Wonderdraft. It's great. Super easy to use, and really good results. Already upgraded my hand-drawn map for my current WIP and it's a thousand times better. Would recommend.
