Thunderbird 2 correct colour

Hi to everyone out there. I'm building a large scale model of the original TV version of TB2 just at the paint stage, I know it's a controversial subject but could anyone point me in the right direction for the correct colour? I'm planning to weather/age it. Thanks in advance

I'd watched it for seven years before I saw it first on a colour television, up to then I always thought it was a mid-grey
