This is a science fiction story.
I read it several times between 1973 and 1977; last time while in sixth grade.
Main character is a boy/teen who is uncertain about his past.
It involves parallel/alternate universe where moving between them leaves reverse-writing documents and papers.
I think there was a conspiracy of sorts.
I seem to recall that this was part of a series.
The original language may not have been English

If I had to guess, I don't think the book was older than 1967, but I could be wrong. The binding was pretty new at the time.

Thank you,
Elaine

I saw your post and thought I'll see if I can find the title of this book for you.

From your description of the book's content and you stating that you thought the book's original language was not English, I did a bit of research and found a book, but I'm not entirely sure that this is the book that you are talking about.

The book that I thought it might be is called De torens van Februari (The Tower of February) by a Dutch author called Tonke Dragt. It was published in 1973 and involves a teen moving travelling between parallel universes, who loses his memory.

If you google the title, there are number of web pages which give a more detailed description of the content of the book.

Hope this is of some help to you.

Ian
