I've had a note from the Hampshire Writers' Society about a poetry and short story competition run by a magazine called Aesthetica. I've not heard of them before, but I thought the contest might be of interest to some here, even with the entry fee requirement, so here's a link:
For short stories, the word limit is 2,000, and there's no specific theme or genre requirement. Their FAQ confirms they'll accept previously published work, too.
