Novel(s) I read in last year, possibly young adult dystopian fiction
Two rival families
One family has son, the mother who is a priestess, (might be family of 2 sons and daughter?)
Father killed when rival nation attacks them and kidnaps the boys
Other family has girl and boy, father evil leader, mother dead when book begins. Father uses children’s power to torture, control people.
boy grows up and falls in love with girl
First, works as her servant
He is trying to rescue his brother
She maybe can’t touch anything, unless gloved?
At some point evil father dies and her brother takes over and also evil.
Later, in sequel(?) they go off world and eventually help rebellion against evil regime
They also discover they were switched at birth. Girl really daughter of priestess. Boy really son of evil ruler.
everyone born has prophecy about them.
Also, in sequel, evil ruler not really dead.
and their brothers are somehow merged into one person.
