Have been hunting for a copy of Margot Bennett's "The long way back" but have been unable to locate a copy anywhere. Have tried all my usual out of print book sellers but to no avail. Even tried my trusty favourite bookseller who has proven quite good at tracking down obscure Sci-Fi titles in the past but this one has proved exceptionally elusive. Any suggestions gratefully received. Could probably find a e-copy but I am no fan of Kindles and mine is on the way out anyway.

Our book search forum—as described in the sub-forum heading—is really geared toward identifying titles of books that readers read long ago and would like to read again except they have forgotten what they were called and who wrote them. So I don't know if you will get any suggestions for getting your hands on an actual copy by asking here, especially if your favorite bookseller has been able to come up with one. I mean, maybe someone will come along and say, "I know where a copy is available" but it seems unlikely.

But I wish you good luck with finding it, in any case.

I had a quick look in a couple of on-line sellers that I've used in the past and don't turn up in searches (at least not until you get many pages in) and they didn't have it. Also discovered that the book was only published once after the original date, back in 1957 by a book club and in very limited numbers. Going to be a tough one to find in print - though it is available digitally.

It looks like it was reprinted last year and is available easily enough:

Having said that, there are no pictures of the book so no assurance of the quality of the printing. If not, there is a copy of the 1957 version available too, which sounds like it's in reasonable condition and not a bad price.

I ran across the same in search...

Since no one else has it and it was supposedly reprinted last year, I was a bit leery.
I did download an electronic copy; because it sounded interesting.

It was a great read; and considering when it was written and that its an apocalyptic type novel--the science makes sense.
