(Found) Sci fi book with failing AIs on an old spaceship

I am trying to remember the name and author of an e-book I read on kindle about 6 months ago. It was about a ship that had two failing AIs on it. It was a very old ship that had originally been a research ship but was now a cargo ship. They were very far from earth. The ship had a cargo of orb like crystals on it that were thought to be very valuable on the planet they had come from. The AIs went mad and killed the Captain as well as one of the crew by shooting cleaning bots out of their charging stations and hitting them in the head. The rest of the crew abandoned the ship and one character was "enhanced." He used manual ejection ports on the bottom of the ship to eject the AIs. They flew to the nearest planet and discovered their cargo was worthless ancient poop. One of the remaining crew members was a chameleon like sentient creature, the other two were human. One of the humans was an "enhanced" former guard for the empress of their home planet, the other was an AI researcher. I have been looking through my kindle books for hours but I have about 400 in there and I just can't find it. It might be part of a collection of short stories, but I just cannot remember.

After spending a few days looking through the hundereds of Ebooks I have, I found it. It is called Quantum Flux by Bobby Adair and it appeared in a collection of short stories called Galaxia: Thirteen Stories Spanning the Unknown Multiverse.
