[The Abyss]

Trying to find a book I read when I was younger(90s) but I think is much older.

The book is about a guy from earth who has inherited shares on the ultimate space ship ever built (or something like that). He goes on an adventure with a space rogue where they begin on the moon, almost blow up their hideaway due to the pressure difference, travel to lands unknown, play weird space golf with a robot with lasers that tries to kill them, land in a planet with weird animals that they learn to communicate with(I think), meet a giant song diva who is sick of the glamour world and other such stuff.

Ring a bell to anyone? I think it's pretty popular, but googling didn't really help.
