Prisoner on asteroid falls km love with female robot

I read an original story about a prisoner sent to do time on an asteroid. A supply ship brings him a female robot companion. Years later he is freed, but the ship cannot bring both of them, so he decides to stay WITH the robot.... Can anybody kindly send me the regerence, please? Thanks!

It sounds like a Twilight Zone teleplay, if that helps. It was called “The Lonely.” Rod Serling is credited for the script.

If you read it in print, it was probably in the book More Stories from the Twilight Zone (1961) with Rod Serling's adaptations of his own teleplays. Possibly, you saw it in the high school textbook Something Strange (1969) which collected various SF/fantasy stories.
