...who would the author(s) be, and what works would you choose?
I would watch Akira Kurosawa's Throne of Blood movie with C. S. Lewis. It's a Japanese movie, but I think Lewis would find in it something of the "Northernness" that fascinated him.
I would have J. R. R. Tolkien listen to this piece, "En seumeillant," from the CD The Passion of Reason by the Sour Cream ensemble:
No music I know comes closer to the beauty and wistfulness of the Elves who have remained in Middle-earth.
