While we're waiting for the new month and two new Challenges, I'd like everyone to raise a virtual glass to toast Cat's Cradle.

Many members won't realise, but for the last few years CC has been the official Meeter & Greeter for all newbies joining the Challenges, welcoming them with a PM, explaining how things work with regard to the discussion threads and voting, and pointing them in the direction of the rules, just in case. He's reassured newbies, helped them find their feet and generally been a wonderful ambassador for the Chrons in general and the Challenges in particular.

He's now decided to take a bit of a back seat and feels it's time to hand over the Meet & Greet role to someone else, so

A BIG THANK YOU AND A ROUND OF APPLAUSE
FOR CAT'S CRADLE!!

I'm delighted to say that Parson has agreed to take on the duty from now on, so while we're in thanking and clapping mood

THANK YOU, PARSON!

While it's very gratifying for me to get "likes" for a post -- and thank you, all, as I know it's being used an indirect way of thanking CC and Parson -- it would be good if someone could pop in and post a thank you or comment, too!

Thank you Cats Cradle. Time for a pint I'd say.

Great point...
Absolutely, though I've only participated in one competition, it's obvious how much the competitions play a part here. More so, I've used the example of the competitions here to press the great value of similar sized competitions elsewhere. @Cat's Cradle ; thanks for helping to support an integral part of the site...which because of such aspects, makes the site one I feel fortunate to have joined. The competitions do have great value, and do improve the writer, so in a very real sense, you have helped improve many here by bearing the burden.

@Parson ; good on you for taking up this calling. Though I can't speak from experience directly regarding this forum's competitions, from elsewhere and other things I realize that no matter how rewarding it may be, it requires a sacrifice of personal things. Thanks for carrying the responsibility that helps make this forum as wonderful as it is.

Aw shucks! I am a bit gobsmacked at the attention. :) Thank you for the lovely post, TJ, and thank you everyone for the kind words.
I often try to stay in the background here, and never thought to be widely known for having been the Meeter & Greeter. But it's been a real pleasure to have been given the opportunity to greet, and have a little chat with, so many of our terrific new members. I've really enjoyed it over the years. And, of course, anyone who's been with the Challenges for a fair while knows that I really love them, and so I've been happy to promote them during this time, as well.

Though I will say, as hinted at here:

I’ve always found CC and Parson to be a bit shouty and badly behaved so this news gives me hope

it's a bit shocking that two such brigands as Parson and I have been given such weighty responsibility. ;)

A big thanks to Parson for becoming the new Meeter & Greeter. I couldn't have passed this off to a nicer person. And thank you, TJ, for asking me, back in late 2017. Your guidance has always made this a much easier undertaking. We have such wonderful people here!! Okay - on to the two new Challenges in April! CC

Thank you all for the kind words! I find I am enjoying this - TJ, is there any other hidden task I can perform for the next few years, so that another such thread can be created in 2022?? ;)

Seriously, thank you all, it's been my pleasure, and Parson, I'm hoping a new member will post a story soon so you can begin your tenure. :)
