I remember reading 2 books in the late 1960's.... Early 1970's.
The first book seemed like it was written around that time. It dealt with a boy....maybe a teenager that becomes aware that his mind, along with most if not all humanities minds are being harnessed by aliens. Their minds are in pyramid like structures. The boy resists the aliens and somehow awakens and teaches others to resist the aliens.
The other book was a collection of short stories. One of the short stories dealt with men adapting to other world atmospheres and climates. The story seemed to be long enough to be a novella. I remember that the book was older......maybe from the 193p's or 1940's. The men were like astronauts and knew they would have to adapt. Some had structures where there bones were hollow and they had extra skin that allowed them to fly.....Others were adapted to live in dense atmospheres.....and they had shirt squat bodies.
