It is carbon monoxide, which isn't unusual, but the concentration is much higher than what is normally found in comets from our system. It could have formed in a very cold region of space or in a solar system with a low power sun like a red dwarf star. It is only the second known interstellar object found in our solar system. The first object was the very long and flat object that came and went without offering much information as to how it got to be that shape. It could be that there are so many different environments out there and so few objects coming our way that everyone of them will not resemble what we call normal.
