This is the only Robinson read by me thus far. It's alternative history, the along the lines of Turtledove. It's a short story about how the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in a parallel world.
The "Lucky Strike" is the name of the B-29 assigned to the mission. It's also the preferred smoke of the crew. All except the bombardier; a loner named January who continues to smoke Camels in spite of everyone else switching to Lucky Strikes after their plane was named.
(The best thing about being a short story fan is how it exposes you to a variety of authors.)
